The Pastoral Residency

The Pastoral Residency at Carlton Landing Community Church combines theological education, pastoral training, and real ministry experience.

EDucation

Our residency offers tailor-made theological training designed to integrate with college and seminary coursework. Each resident will develop a course of study that is academically rigorous and fulfills their course requirements.

Training

Formation is best done life-on-life. Residents will receive tailored coaching and mentorship to grow in their gifts, discern their calling, and plan their future.

Experience

Residents are embedded in the daily life of the church and entrusted with real responsibility. From Sunday mornings to midweek student activities, preparing for sermons and pastoral care, residents get to see and experience a full course of pastoral ministry.

Prepare for Life in Ministry

Our residents prepare for a lifetime in ministry. This means integrating the church, the community, and the home. Led by Dr. Cole Feix, our residents spend time preparing to serve God in all of life.

Cole and his wife, Laura, have spent years leading and developing young ministry leaders. Cole is the pastor of Carlton Landing Community Church, the president of So We Speak Media, a fellow of the Center for Pastor Theologians, and one of the directors of the Library Company in Carlton Landing. He has an M.Div. from Oklahoma Christian University, a Research Th.M. in Preaching, and a Ph.D. in Philosophical Theology from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Life in Carlton Landing

Residents spend the semester in Carlton Landing, OK, a resort community on Lake Eufaula. Community is the heart of who we are. Residents get to experience all that Carlton Landing has to offer through housing provided by the church.

We believe community is the key to growth. This semester is spent immersed in relationships, the life of the town, and the beauty of creation.

Hear from past residents

"The Residency at Carlton Landing was a formative season that grounded my theology in the life of the local church. It clarified God's call on my life by giving me a compelling vision of the pastorate and of the ordinary glory of shepherding Christ's people."
- Chris
"Cole and Laura made that time so welcoming and special for us! I use at least one thing I learned in CL in my job every week. It was a life-changing experience."
- Luke
